Our Story
The story of "The Beings" began during the COVID-19 pandemic, born from a creative collaboration between Siberian visual artist and designer Anastasia Shi and music composer, writer, and producer Macarena Palazuelos. Together, they brought “The Beings” to life, blending their unique artistic visions and cultural backgrounds to create something meaningful. This partnership stemmed from a shared passion for art and a desire to inspire joy, creativity, and financial stability during a challenging global economic period.
The concept emerged during a brainstorming session where the first two characters, Peter and Lily, were envisioned along with their personalities. After numerous experiments with various printing techniques, the first "being" took form, showcasing a distinct artistic inclination toward embroidery.
Our Vision
Our mission extends beyond simply creating a clothing brand. "The Beings" seeks to connect people through characters with unique personalities, encouraging introspection and fostering a personal bond with a specific "being." This approach offers an immersive, entertaining experience that blends creativity with purpose.
In addition to encourage human connection, we are committed to sustainability and social responsibility. Our clothing is crafted from eco-friendly fabrics and brought to life by local Mexican textile workshops and seamstresses. By doing so, we support environmental conservation, provide employment opportunities, and combat discrimination in Mexico.
Our Process
The foundation of our recycled fabric,"Fleece Poly Recycled," lies in the innovative transformation of PET and recycled cotton from deadstock materials. The process involves shredding PET and cotton, where:
- The cotton is processed into fiber and spun like traditional textiles.
- The PET is melted and spun into durable fibers.
Properties
- Composition: 50% recycled PET and 50% recycled cotton
- Benefits: Waterproof, flexible, resistant to high temperatures, non-toxic material, and no re-dyeing required.
- Certification: Global Recycled Standard (GRS), Certificate Number: 814220
By combining creativity, sustainability, and social impact, "The Beings" represents a movement toward a more conscious and connected world.
